The round golden motifs you see are commonly referred to as Gini Buta (coin motifs).- What is Gini Work: “Gini” literally means coin. These are small circular metallic woven motifs scattered across the saree.
- In your saree, they appear in an antique gold tone, not flashy zari — more muted, heritage-inspired.
- How it is woven: The gini butas are woven into the fabric structure, not printed. They are inserted using supplementary weft technique. The texture inside each coin looks slightly crinkled or grid-like — giving it a handcrafted charm. Because it’s woven (not pasted), it becomes part of the fabric and moves naturally with the drape
